Hey everyone!
It is time for another WWW Wednesday post.
This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and brought back by Taking on a World of Words.
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Currently Reading:

I am currently reading Screamcatcher: Web World by Christy J. Breedlove. I was sent a copy of this book by the author, in exchange for an honest review. I have literally only just started this, so I don’t really have an opinion on it yet, but I’m hoping that I enjoy it as much as I am expecting to.
Recently Finished:

I’m not really sure if this counts as ‘Recently Finished’, because I actually DNF’ed Woman in the Water by Katerina Diamond. This is the first time I have ever DNF’ed a book, and I’m not sure how I feel about it. The most annoying part about it is that I was really enjoying this book, but then there was an extremely graphic rape scene, that there were no trigger warnings for, and I just couldn’t carry on after that. I can usually handle this type of thing, but this one was way too much for me.
Reading Next:

Next, I am planning to read Gone by Leona Deakin. This has been on my NetGalley list for a while, and I’m still trying to catch up. I’ve seen a lot of positive feedback for this book, so I have high hopes for it!

I’m so sorry the Woman in the Water just threw a very emotional and graphic scene at you like that. I can totally see why that would make you dnf it. I really hope your next book is a lot better ❤

I’m curious to see what you think of Screamcatcher. I thought it may be too horror leaning for me. Happy reading! ❤️

Great week I hope you are enjoying/ you do enjoy Screamcatcher! It is a shame that you were enjoying one of your reads and it was ruined by the lack of warnings for the content! Sorry you had to deal with that! Gone looks very interesting though I hope you enjoy it!! 💜😊

Thank you! It was definitely a shame, it was a great book up until that point, and I really wanted to find out what happened, but I just couldn’t go on after that. I’m really looking forward to reading gone!😊💜

I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts on Screamcatcher! Portal fantasy is sometimes really hit or miss for me.
So sorry to hear about Woman in the Water. This is why trigger warnings are important. It’s so frustrating to be enjoying a book and not be able to finish it, versus knowing ahead of time that there’s something in it that is a hard no for you.
Here’s my WWW post.

This is the first time I have really read anything like Screamcatcher, so I’m hoping I enjoy it!
Definitely! If I had known ahead of time, I could have either avoided reading it, or prepared myself. It’s a shame, because I really wanted to know what happened!

I used to feel like DNFing a book was akin to quitting or something but in the past few years I have found it to be a freeing thing. Certainly a surprise scene like this one would land a book directly in my DNF pile. Still, it is hard.
Have a great week!

I totally agree, I feel awful about DNF’ing a book for the first time, but there was no way I could continue after that. It’s also a huge shame, because I was really enjoying it until then!
