Reading Habits Book Tag

Hey everyone!

Thank you to the lovely One More Chapter Book Blog for tagging me to do the Reading Habits Book Tag!

This post was found on Jenniely’s blog, and was originally created by TheBookJazz.

1 – Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

The left corner of the sofa (yes, specifically the left side, because I like to lean my left arm on the arm of the chair), in the living room. Usually with my feet up, and a blanket over me.

2 – Bookmark or random piece of paper?

Considering I have a bookmark store on Etsy, I think the answer is fairly self explanatory.

3 – Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/a certain amount of pages?

I prefer to stop at the end of a chapter, but if that isn’t possible, I have to stop where a page finishes with the end of a sentence.

4 – Do you eat or drink while reading?

I never eat when I am reading, but during the day I occasionally have a cup of tea while I read, and in the evening, I often have a nice cold beer.

5 – Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?

Oh god, no! I get distracted way too easily. The only TV that is ever on while I read is my 2 year old daughter’s TV shows, because I can’t get distracted by those, haha!

6 – One book at a time or several at once?

I’m definitely a one book at a time sort of person. I always read a book, review it straight away, and then start my next one.

7 – Reading at home or everywhere?

Home is my favourite place to read, as I find it more relaxing, but I will read absolutely anywhere.

8 – Reading out loud or silently in your head?

Always silently!

9 – Do you read ahead or even skip pages?

I try not to, because I don’t like to ruin it for myself, but sometimes I can’t help myself!

10 – Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

Broken spines is definitely one of my biggest bookish pet peeves. Most of my shelves look like they are completely unread, with the exception of charity shop finds.

11 – Do you write in your books?

This is another one of my bookish pet peeves. By all means write on a tab or notes or something, but never in the actual book.

Readabits Questions:

1 – When do you find yourself reading?

ANY TIME I CAN! Whenever I have a free moment, I read.

2 – What is your best setting to read in?

On my sofa with a blanket.

3 – What do you do first β€” read or watch?

Definitely read. I hate knowing what is going to happening before reading a book.

4 – What form do you prefer? Audiobook, e-book, or physical book?

Physical books will always be my favourites. Nothing beats the feeling of holding a book in your hands, and physically turning the pages.

5 – Do you have a unique habit when you read?

Not that I can think of…

6 – Do book series have to match?

YES! It really frustrates me if I look at my shelf and the series aren’t matching, to the point that I have actually bought new copies, just so that they match.

  1. As a fellow two year old daughter wrangler I love that you also tune out kid’s shows. I still have to keep the volume down for sanity sake though!

  2. Your the first person I’ve come across who will read just one book at a time, like I do. I have no idea how some people can read several books at once, especially if they’re all the same genre. Great answers and great post, hope you don’t mind if I do this tag myself? I’ve been looking to have fun with more tags πŸ™‚
