Bookish Naughty or Nice Tag

Hey everyone!
I saw Emer @ A Little Haze Book Blog do this tag about a month ago, and thought it looked like fun, but then I totally forgot to do it, so I am going to do it now, haha! Apparently, it is a Christmas tag? But, I think you can get away with doing this any time of the year!

This tag was created by Jenn @ Jenniely

The Rules

  • Tag and link the person who tagged you. (no-one tagged me)
  • Link back to the creator.
  • Tick or cross off the ones you’ve done!
  • Tag some people!

Received an ARC and not reviewed it

Okay, technically yes I have done this… BUT, in my defence, the book came in the post, I had no idea who had sent it, had never heard of the book or author, and never had any correspondence with anyone about the book… To this day, the whole thing is still a mystery!

I guess that makes me NAUGHTY.

Have a less than 60% rating on NetGalley

I actually don’t think I have ever been below 60%, there have been times when I have come close though… I am currently on 68%.

NICE.

Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did)

I never promise a review on GoodReads before I post one, so this is a no from me!

NICE.

Folded down the page of a book

Okay, so shopping catalogues don’t count, right? They are the only corners I will ever fold. Dog-earing pages is one of my biggest bookish pet peeves!

NICE.

Accidentally spilled on a book

I have, and I was extremely upset about it! When I was younger, I had The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank in my school bag, and my drink leaked all over it, and when I finally realised, the book was ruined!

Unfortunately, NAUGHTY.

DNF a book this year

I have DNF’ed 2 books this year… OOPS!

NAUGHTY.

Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it

Any book I buy, I always have the intention of reading it (even if it takes years of it sitting on my shelves before I actually do).

NICE.

Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework)

I do this all the time. I think most of us who enjoy books do! Forever using the “just one more page” saying.

NAUGHTY.

Skim read a book

I have never been a skim reader. I would much rather spend that little more time on a book and actually read it properly, and if I’m not enjoying it, I just DNF.

NICE.

Completely missed your Goodreads goal

I have only had my GoodReads account for a couple of years, and both years I have hit my goal. But, I am definitely behind on this years goal at the moment. Hopefully I can catch up!

NICE.

Borrowed a book and not returned it to the library

As an adult, no. But, I definitely forgot to return some of the school library books I had borrowed before I left, and until recently, they remained in my parents house.

NAUGHTY.

Broke a book buying ban

ALL THE BLOODY TIME! Honestly, I don’t know why I bother putting myself on book buying bans, because I know that there is no way I will actually stick to it.

NAUGHTY.

Started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about

NOPE! I always write my reviews straight after finishing a book, and before beginning a new one, purely because I know I will forget what it was about it I don’t.

NICE.

Wrote in a book you were reading

Not including school text books, I have never written in my books! This is another of my biggest bookish pet peeves. I make my notes on the notes app of my phone or my laptop.

NICE.

Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads

Since starting my GoodReads account, I am pretty sure I have added every book that I have read to it.

NICE.

Borrowed a book and not returned it to a friend

GUILTY! I have borrowed a book from a friend before, and then lost contact with them, and then it feels weird being like “hey, long time no speak, do you want your book back?”, so I kept it… I’M SORRY!

NAUGHTY.

Dodged someone asking if they can borrow a book

I do this quite a lot… I am very particular about the condition I like my books to remain in, so I hate letting people borrow my books! The only people I trust with my books are my fiancé, and my parents.

NAUGHTY.

Broke the spine of someone else’s book

DEFINITELY NOT! Again, another bookish pet peeve… I hate when the spine of a book is broken, and almost all of my books on my shelves look unread (apart from ones that I have found in charity shops, that already had the spines broken when I bought them), so there is no way I would break the spine of someone else’s book.

NICE.

Took the jacket off a book to protect it and ended up making it more damaged

I am always so careful with my books, so no, I haven’t done this.

NICE.

Sat on a book accidentally

This is one of those ones that it is pretty hard to have NOT done. I do this a lot. hahaha!

NAUGHTY.

FINAL TALLY…

AM I BOOKISHLY NAUGHTY OR NICE?

9 naughty, and 11 nice.
So, it looks like I am BOOKISHLY NICE!
