Hey everyone!
It is time for this week’s First Lines Fridays.

First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?
- Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
- Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
- Finally… reveal the book!
The first lines of today’s chosen book are:
When the car bypasses the main terminal building and pulled up next to a sign that said Private Jet Centre, Emily breathed in so fast she almost choked.
And the book is…

The Safe Place by Anna Downes

GoodReads Synopsis:
Welcome to paradise…will you ever be able to leave?
Emily is a mess.
Emily Proudman just lost her acting agent, her job, and her apartment in one miserable day.
Emily is desperate.
Scott Denny, a successful and charismatic CEO, has a problem that neither his business acumen nor vast wealth can fix. Until he meets Emily.
Emily is perfect.
Scott offers Emily a summer job as a housekeeper on his remote, beautiful French estate. Enchanted by his lovely wife Nina, and his eccentric young daughter, Aurelia, Emily falls headlong into this oasis of wine-soaked days by the pool. But soon Emily realizes that Scott and Nina are hiding dangerous secrets, and if she doesn’t play along, the consequences could be deadly.
I received a press release package for The Safe Place a few day ago, from Hodder & Stoughton. This book sounds so good, and exactly the type of book I love to read. I am planning on reading this as soon as I finish my current read!
Have you read this book?
If yes, what did you think of it?
Let me know in the comments!
Ohh, this one looks interesting! Looks like another one for my TBR 😂
