I have quite a few reviews lined up for the next few weeks, so I will be posting some of the guest posts on Sunday’s.
So, for today’s post, here is another blogger guest post.
This week, we have Kerri, from Kerri McBookNerd!
Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m a 37 year old medical lab technician who spends most of her free time either reading, playing video games (Animal Crossing, woo!), or spending time out in the sun. I’m married with two kiddos and three cats.
Why did you decide to start a blog?
I decided to start a blog because I love to talk about books, but most of the people in my life don’t get nearly as excited about the written word as I do. I wanted a space where I could drone on about books to my heart’s content and maybe meet some like-minded people in the process. It seems to be working out so far!
What is your favourite thing about being a blogger?
So far, my favorite thing about being a blogger is interacting with authors, other bloggers, and people in the bookish community. I’ve met so many genuinely nice people since starting this blog and have been exposed to reading opportunities I wouldn’t have had before!
Who are some of your favourite authors?
Angie Thomas is definitely on the top of the list. I’ve loved every book she’s written so far and I cannot wait for her new book, Concrete Rose! I’m also a huge fan of Erin Morgenstern. Her writing is like a decadent treat at the end of a long day. Just gorgeous! Some recent faves are Margaret Owen, Jordan Ifueko, and Emily Skrutskie.
Name one book that you think everyone should read in their lifetime, and explain why.
I’m going to have to go with The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. It’s a book that has stuck with me long after I read it. It tackles a difficult subject in a way that is both heart-breaking and accessible to millions. And it’s just so beautifully crafted, I think everyone should experience it!
Suggest 3 blogs that you enjoy reading.
Beyond everyone in our group chat (😉) I’m a big fan of Sammie @ The Writerly Way. She has a great sense of humor! I also like Leelyn @ Sometimes Leelyn Reads. She does wonderfully in-depth reviews and her blog tour posts are always so beautifully put together! I also enjoy Sara @ The Bibliophagist’s blog. She was one of the first blogs I followed when I started this journey and I love her reviews.
Choose your favourite 3 posts from your blog.
Ohhh, good question. Um… I think my three favorite posts right now are my Top Ten Tuesday about fiction with a bookish twist, my review for Raybearer, and my Mystery Blogger Award post. I had a lot of fun writing all three and I think it shows!
