Wrap Up: July 2020

Hey everyone!
It’s time for my July wrap up! How is it July already? This year is flying by, even though we have been stuck inside for most of it!

I didn’t get through my entire July TBR, and I made a couple of changes, but it wasn’t a bad reading month of reading.

In total, I finished 3 books, DNF’ed 1, and started 2 more.

BOOKS READ:

BOOK 1: Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

PURCHASE HERE (affiliate links): Amazon UK, Waterstones, Book Depository

I have had Children of Blood and Bone on my TBR for so long, and I have no idea why it has taken me so long to pick it up! I absolutely loved this story, so much so that since reading the ebook, I have bought myself a paperback copy, and bought the sequel! FULL REVIEW HERE!

BOOK 2: The Ship of Shadows by Maria Kuzniar

PURCHASE HERE (affiliate links): Amazon UK, Waterstones, Book Depository

I read The Ship of Shadows for the Ultimate Blog Tour, and I can honestly say that I loved every second of it. It is full of magic, adventure, and strong female characters, what’s not to love? I could read this over and over again. FULL REVIEW HERE!

BOOK 3: Truth Be Told by Kia Abdullah

PURCHASE HERE (affiliate links): Amazon UK, Waterstones, Book Depository

I received a copy of Truth Be Told thanks to NetGalley and HQ. I read Kia Abdullah’s debut novel, Take It Back, in 2019, and it was one of my top 5 books of the year, so I was extremely excited to read Truth Be Told, and it certainly didn’t let me down. This is a very thought provoking read, but could be quite triggering for some people. Full review coming soon, and it will include trigger warnings.

BOOK DNF’ED:

Cannibal City by Jennifer Lee Thomson

PURCHASE HERE (affiliate links): Amazon UK, Waterstones, Book Depository

I DNF’ed Cannibal City because it just wasn’t for me. Personally, I found it a little too slow paced, but it is definitely not a bad book, and I am sure that lots of you will love it!

Which books did you read in July?
Which was your favourite of the month?
Have you read any of the books from my July wrap up?
