Dark Academia Book Tag –

Hey everyone!
Today, I am doing the Dark Academia book tag. I saw the lovely Kerri @ Kerri McBookNerd do this tag, and thought the questions were fantastic (and some are very difficult), so decided to give it a go myself!

Favourite academies or dark book/movie

I love so many, so I’m going to choose one of the darkest books I’ve read. American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis.

What dead poet would you like to have a drink with?

In all honesty, I’m not really a fan of poetry… But, I’m going to steal Kerri’s answer, and say Edgar Allan Poe, because wouldn’t that be a totally weird, but fascinating drink?

What is your favourite painting and/or sculpture?

As an artist, the hardest thing in the world is deciding on only ONE favourite, not only because there are so many that I adore, but also because my answer changes all the time. But, for my current favourite, I think I would have to say Self-Portrait, 1889 by Vincent Van Gogh. It is considered to be his last ever self-portrait, and is on display in Musée d’Orsay, Paris.

What is your favourite architectural marvel?

Oh good question… I love them all! But, I think I’ll go for Abu Simbel temples in Egypt. From a very young age, I have been fascinated by Ancient Egypt, but particularly Abu Simbel.

What Shakespeare play would you like to be the lead in?

Is it extremely cliché to say Romeo and Juliet? Well, I’m saying it anyway! (Especially if Leonardo DiCaprio is playing Romeo!)

How many languages do you speak and which language would you most like to learn?

Unfortunately, I only speak English, but I do know a few basic words and phrases in French, and Spanish. There are so many languages that I would love to learn properly, including both French and Spanish, but I think the 2 I would most like to learn are Italian and German.

What is your favourite quote?

I always struggle to think of quotes on the spot… But, I’ll go with “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.”

I actually made prints and bookmarks with this quote on!

What fictional character’s death is your ideal way to go?

I actually can’t think of any character that dies in a nice way… But ideally, I would like to die in my sleep, I just think that would be the most peaceful, painless way to go.

What university/college would you like to attend?

I would love to go to an Ivy League school, like Harvard, or Yale!

What is your murder weapon or murder method of choice?

As someone who reads a lot of thrillers and true crime, I feel like this is my sort of question, haha!
I’d probably go for something untraceable, like a poison of some sort. Something that wouldn’t leave much evidence or DNA behind.
And then do a full Breaking Bad, and dissolve the body in acid, but I wouldn’t do it in the bath tub, because we all know how that ended for Walt and Jesse.

What mythology would you like to be a part of?

All types of mythology have always interested me, but particularly Greek mythology, so I will go with that.

If you had a PHD what would you chose to do it on?

I am fascinated by the universe, and the way things work, so I would probably choose either Theoretical Physics or Quantum Physics.

Which fictional character would you die for?

Lorcan Furey from the Vampirates series by Justin Somper.
