2021 Reading Goals and Challenges

Hey everyone!
For today’s post, I will be sharing my reading goals, and reading challenges for the year with you all.
I didn’t do great with my 2020 goals and challenges, so I’m going to really focus on my 2021 ones, and hopefully have a more successful reading year.

GoodReads Reading Challenge:

In 2020, I set myself a target of 50 books, and I managed to reach my target. Despite the fact that I managed 50 books last year, I have decided that for this year I am going to cut my target down to 40 books. The main reason for this is that I am planning on going back to work this year! I have spent the past 3 and a half years being a stay at home mum, because childcare is expensive, and all of our close family members work, but now that Evelyn is off to school, I can go back to work, and I’m excited! But, this does mean I will have less time for reading.

2021 Reading Challenge:

I am taking part in the 2021 Reading Challenge, hosted by Mina @ Stacked. I took part in her 2020 TBR Reading Challenge last year, and did okay, but I’m really looking forward to doing this years challenge, and trying to do a better job at it than last year! You can check out which books I have chosen for the prompts HERE.

I am also taking part in the #TBRTackleChallenge on Instagram. Each month, there are a short list of prompts, and you pick a big for as many or as few of them as you would like from your TBR. This will be another great way to get through the books I already own!

Clearing The Shelves:

In 2021, I am going to take on a lot less blog tours, review requests, and ARCs, so that I can really focus on the books I already own! I did attempt to do this in 2020, with the Clearing The Hoard – Bookwyrm Challenge that was hosted by Caffeinated Fae, but I did an AWFUL job… I got so carried away with requesting ARCs, and joining blog tours, that I totally abandoned my shelves. This year, I am determined to tackle them!

I am really looking forward to this year of reading, and I hope that I do well with my challenges. Wish me luck!

Have you set yourself any goals for 2021?
Are you taking part in any 2021 reading challenges?

Let me know in the comments!
