Final Update: Clearing The Hoard – Bookwyrm Challenge

Hey everyone!

For today’s post, I will be sharing my 5th and final update/results post for the Clearing The Hoard – Bookwyrm Challenge, which was created by the lovely  Caffeinated Fae.

Rules for the Clearing The Hoard – Bookwyrm Challenge

Do you want in on this? Feel free to adapt the idea! Use this as an excuse to read some of the books on your bookshelf! All you need to do is once a month read a book that you previously owned! Once you’re done reading that book decide if it’s a keeper or if it needs a new home! Make sure to tag Caffeinated Fae so she can share your posts!

Here are my stats from when I originally took on this challenge:

Total physical books owned: 388
Total physical books read: 95
Total physical books unread: 293

Total eBooks owned: 65
Total eBooks read: 22
Total eBooks unread: 43

Overall total number of books owned: 453
Overall total books read: 117
Overall total books unread: 336

Here are the stats from when I last did an update (update 4):

Total physical books owned: 425
Total physical books read: 127
Total physical books unread: 298

Total eBooks owned: 120
Total eBooks read: 46
Total eBooks unread: 74

Overall total number of books owned: 545
Overall total books read: 173
Overall total books unread: 372

And here are my newly updated stats:

Total physical books owned: 401
Total physical books read: 119
Total physical books unread: 282

Total eBooks owned: 121
Total eBooks read: 48
Total eBooks unread: 73

Overall total number of books owned: 522
Overall total books read: 167
Overall total books unread: 355

I recently did a small unhaul of books, but I have also gained a few books in that time too, so the stat difference of books owned isn’t much different. I haven’t actually bought any new books in quite a while, and all of the new books I’ve gained have been ARCs or blog tour books.

As you can see, I haven’t done a great job of this challenge, and I’m a little disappointed, but 2021 is going to be the year that I tackle these stats (I hope). I’m determined to get the unread number down! I’m going to cut back on the amount of blog tours I sign up for, I won’t be accepting any new review requests for a while, and I am going to try and hold back on requesting NetGalley ARCs, hopefully this will make a huge difference.
