My Top 5: Tips For New Bloggers

Hey everyone!
Today, I am sharing my top 5 tips for new bloggers. Starting a blog can be a lot to figure out, but I hope these tips will help.

1 – Plan your blogging.

I know a lot of people find it really difficult to post regularly, but planning your blogging can make a huge difference to your posting! I recently wrote a post on how I manage to keep up with posting daily, which you can find HERE.

2 – Don’t worry too much about your view count.

When you’re first starting out, it can be so disheartening when you put in a lot of effort and don’t get many views in response. But, what you need to remember is that you’re new to this! Everyone has been in the new blog stage and had the exact same feelings. Persevere and the views will pick up over time.

3 – Use social media to your advantage.

Social media is your best friend! Share your posts over your social media accounts, to reach the widest audience you possibly can.

4 – Make sure to interact.

Interaction is a huge part of blogging. Get yourself involved in the blogging community, make friends. People are more likely to interact with you and your blog if you interact with theirs. Support groups/chats are a great help! I am involved in a few, and it has boosted my blog more than I could have imagined, but I have also made some great friends because of it too.

5 – Blog for YOU, not for other people.

This is probably the most important tip! Don’t worry too much about what other people are doing on their blogs, your blog is for you. It’s very easy, especially as a new blogger, to get caught up in what you’re seeing others posting, but the most important thing to remember is to blog for yourself. Your blog is supposed to be your little place, and you need to make sure that what you’re posting makes you happy, regardless as to whether other people are doing the same thing, otherwise it takes the fun out of it.

Do you have any tips to add to my list?
Please share them in the comments!

  1. Nicely done for not just new bloggers but useful for many others who often struggle after getting started off. I just had one query on the “support groups/chats” what exactly are those? As for somethings that have worked for me, it would be responding back to readers who take time to comment, to visit other peoples blog posts and genuinely read through and share a comment. Overall being authentic has worked.

    1. By support groups/chats, I mean group chats, for example, I am in a few on Twitter where we all share our blog posts (or our tweets promoting our new posts) and then we all like/comment on eachother’s posts, and retweet eachother’s tweets. Basically just groups where everyone supports eachother’s blogs, interacts with everyone, and helps boost your reach on social media 🙂
