The Prompts:

Black Cats: Pick a book that doesn’t get the love it deserves.

My answer will always be the same for this. The whole of the Vampirates series by Justin Somper. Every book is fantastic, and doesn’t get even nearly as much love as it deserves.

White Cats: Pick a book with great disability rep

I’m actually giving the same answer as Kerri for this one… Our Bloody Pearl by D.N. Bryn has so many different types of rep in it, including disability rep (partially paralysed MC). As Kerri said, I myself am not part of the disabled community, so my opinion that it is great rep may not be exactly accurate, but I personally think it is brilliant.

Ginger Cats: Name your favourite male character

LORCAN FUREY!!! Lorcan Furey from the Vampirates series will forever be my favourite male character. There are just so many reasons why I love him. But just take a look at this artwork from the original publication… Isn’t he beautiful?!

Tortoiseshell Cats: Name your favourite female character

It has to be Jack Valentine from Josie Jaffrey’s Seekers series. She’s so strong, and exciting, slightly dangerous, and totally badass!

Calico Cats: Name a character you wish was your best friend

Although I haven’t actually finished the book yet, I have already decided that I want Vivi Hollow from House of Hollow by Krystal Sutherland to be my best friend. Her “fuck off” attitude, crazy antics, and dangerousness should really be off putting, but throughout the book so far it has completely drawn me to her. Her style/aesthetic is really my vibe too. I just think that we’d have a great time together.

Tabby Cats: Name a character who’s the life and soul of the party

I’m going to say Jack Valentine again, because her lethal drink concoctions are enough to get ANY party going (and also very likely to make every party extremely messy)!

A Clowder of Cats: Name your favourite fictional squad

The Hawthorne brothers and Avery Grambs from the Inheritance Games series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. I love reading about their adventures, and their games, and despite their differences they always have each other’s backs.
