Today, I will be doing the I Should Have Read That book tag! I saw this tag over on The Strawberry Post and thought it looked like fun, so decided to give it a go myself.
A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read
I genuinely can’t think of a book that anyone is telling me to read repeatedly. I get book recs from friends all the time, but none thatI’m ALWAYS being told to read. My dad did repeatedly tell my to read James Herbert’s Rats series, but I’ve read that now, and I LOVED it!
A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up
So you’re asking me to list basically every book on my bookshelves then? (Laughing about it because if I don’t I might cry, HAHA!)
One that has probably been on my shelves longer than most though is The Boleyn Inheritance by Philippa Gregory.
A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten round to finishing yet
I actually haven’t got any series that I’ve started and not finished. There are a few series that I’m waiting on the next book, or the next book has JUST been released, but none that I would consider myself behind on.
A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read
I don’t read classics very often so there are a few, but the one that I’ve always liked the sound of is The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. I own a very beautiful Penguin clothbound classic edition of it too!
A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read
There are so many… I haven’t read a lot of the popular authors/books (mainly because a lot of them aren’t really my sort of genre). Six of Crows, ACOTAR, Ninth House, the list goes on and on…
A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet
Sherlock Holmes. The Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman TV adaptation, Sherlock, is one of my all time favourite series, but I still haven’t read the books (despite owning a very nice 150th anniversary complete edition).
A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet
It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover. This book is absolutely EVERYWHERE right now!
