WWW Wednesday – 20th July 2022

Hey everyone!
It is time for this week’s WWW Wednesday post.

This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and brought back by Taking on a World of Words.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Evelyn and I are currently reading Lily Quench and The Treasure of Mote Ely together as her bedtime story, and we are very close to finishing it. We haven’t made much progress since last week because Evelyn has been exhausted from the move and has been falling asleep without a story, but once we get a normal routine back we will get back to it.

I am also currently reading How To Be True by Daisy May Johnson. I only started this today but I’m really excited about it. I was supposed to be reading this for the @PushkinPress blog tour, but my copy of the book didn’t arrive in time, and I had to do a spotlight post for my stop instead, but my copy arrived a few days ago so I’m eager to dive right in.

Recently Finished:

I recently finished reading The Silent Brother by Simon Van Der Velde, which I was sent a review copy of by the author. It took me way longer than I had hoped because of the move, but I really enjoyed this book. It is dark, and unapologetic, and filled with raw emotion. Review to come.

I also recently finished reading Her Secret War by Pam Lecky. I have been in a real mood for historical fiction lately, and this certainly satisfied that need. It was quite interesting to see the war from an Irish perspective, and it’s something I’ve not seen done in any historical fiction I’ve read. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Review to come.

Next, I will be reading The Visitors by Caroline Scott. After reading her previous books, The Photographer of the Lost (REVIEW HERE), and When I Come Home Again (REVIEW HERE), Scott has become a favourite author of mine, so I am extremely excited to finally read this!

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Have you read any of these books? If yes, what did you think?

Let me know in the comments!
