1 – Percy Jackson: Your best/favourite book of the year

This was a tough one, because I have actually had quite a few 5 star reads so far this year, which I have absolutely loved! But, I will go for Fifty Fifty by Steve Cavanagh.

2 – Annabeth Chase: A book where you’re in awe of the author’s genius

I know Steve Cavanagh was my answer for prompt 1, but honestly, this man is an absolute genius when it comes to writing a good thriller, so I HAD to choose him again! This time I’m going with Twisted, because this book is a work of art.

3 – Grover Underwood: A book you love that’s under-hyped

Oh there are quite a few, but my favourite book of 2019 hasn’t got anywhere near as much hype as it deserves, so I am choosing From Inside the House by WD Jackson-Smart

4 – Luke Castellan: A book you thought you’d hate, but didn’t

Honestly? Pride and Prejudice. I wouldn’t say that I thought I would hate it, but I don’t usually like romance, and it was the first classic I read, so I didn’t really expect to enjoy it. Well, I loved it, and read more Jane Austen after, and loved those too!

5 – Chiron: A book that will always feel like home

This is an easy one for me! The Vampirates series by Justin Somper, especially Demons of the Ocean (book 1).

PURCHASE HERE (Amazon affiliate link)

6 – Tyson: A book with a sibling relationship you adore

Children of Blood and Bone. The relationship between Zelié and Tzain is so lovely. Although at times it is a little strained, it is only because they care about each other so deeply, and don’t want any harm to come to one another. They’re always there when they need each other.

7 – Thalia Grace: A book where time froze when you read it

Our Bloody Pearl by D.N. Bryn. When I read this, I was so absorbed by it that I seemed to block out the entire world, and totally lost track of time. This is such a great book, and deserves a lot more hype!

PURCHASE HERE (Amazon affiliate link)

8 – Nico De Angelo: A well-loved book you love too

IT by Stephen King. It took a lot of courage for me to read this book, because I am petrified of clowns, but I have been trying to overcome my fear, and reading IT was one of the first steps. I absolutely loved this book, and can see why it is so loved by others. But, there was that one scene that I just can’t stand, and will never understand why King included it. If you’ve read it, you know which scene…

9 – Calypso: A book you’d be marooned on an island with

The perfect choice for this would be The Ship of Shadows by Maria Kuzniar. It is full of adventure, magic, and generally lots of fun! I finished this book quite recently, and can’t recommend it highly enough, it is one of those stories that you could read over and over again. Review coming on Friday!

PURCHASE HERE (Amazon affiliate link)

10 – Rachel Dare: A book you predict you will give 5 star

Out For Blood by Deborah Masson. I read Deborah Masson’s debut novel, Hold Your Tongue, in 2019, and it was one of my favourite books of the year, so I am predicting her new novel to be a 5 star read too!

PURCHASE HERE (Amazon affiliate link)

11 – Jason Grace: An upcoming book you’d get hit by a brick to read now

Keep Her Quiet by Emma Curtis. I actually have an ARC copy of this through NetGalley, but I have a few other books that I have to read first because of blog tours and released dates. I am so desperate to read this right away!

PURCHASE HERE (Amazon affiliate link)

12 – Piper Mclean: A book you loved that someone convinced you to read

My dad had been telling me to read James Herbert’s Rats series for a while, and when I finally did, I absolutely loved it! I have to say that in my opinion, James Herbert is a much better horror writer than Stephen King, and The Rats is one of the best books I have ever read!

13 – Leo Valdez: The funniest book you’ve read

I don’t tend to read funny books, I mainly read thrillers and horrors, so I don’t actually have an answer for this one… I am trying to broaden my range of reading, so hopefully I will have an answer for this in the near future.

14 – Hazel Levesque: An old book/book you read a long time ago but still love

I will have to go for the Vampirates series again, but because I used Demons of the Ocean for a previous prompt, for this one I will choose Tide of Terror (book 2).

15 – Frank Zhang: A book you were afraid to read the end of

The Photographer of the Lost by Caroline Scott. Not only was I afraid to read the end because I really just didn’t want it to end, but also because the book was so emotional and heart wrenching, I really wasn’t sure whether I was going to get a happy or heartbreaking ending. I read a lot of war related historical fiction, but this is by far the best one I have ever read!

16 – Reyna Ramírez-Arellano: A book everyone hates but you love

Oh a tough one! I actually can’t think of any!

17 – Octavian: A book you would punch without hesitation

I’m so sorry, because I know a lot of you are huge fans, but Alice in Wonderland

PURCHASE HERE (Amazon affiliate link)

18 – Percabeth: A book with the best romance

As I stated for a previous answer, I’m not really a romance fan… But, I will go for Pride and Prejudice again!
