Book Summary:

When Mala the Koala stomps into the forest, feeling very crummy, a little mouse suggests Mala will soon feel better if she starts to be kind. But how? wonders Mala. Soon she’s sharing her lunch with some emu chicks, helping a baby bat and comforting her friend, Wombat – discovering, on her way, that kindness really is what makes the world go round. This easy-to-read rhyming story, with gentle humour and gorgeous artwork, is a perfect introduction to kindness.

My Review:

Kindness For Koalas is a beautiful little story, and is excellent for teaching children about kindness, and the positive effects that it has on you and everyone around you. There was a range of different characters and animals within the story, all of which are gorgeously illustrated. The whole Good Behaviour Guides series is a wonderful idea to help children grow, and learn about positive behaviour.

Evelyn’s Thoughts:

My favourite part was when Mala helped put the little bat back in the tree because he had fallen out, and I liked the wombat. It was nice of Mala to say sorry for the bad things she had done. I learnt a lot about kindness, like if someone is sad, to hold their hand and sit beside them. I learnt that being kind to other people can make you happy as well as them.

*Thank you to Kaleidoscopic for our copy of the book, in exchange for an honest review*
