Hey everyone!
2022 was an absolute rollercoaster of a year. In my personal life, so much happened. The highlights were that Alex and I FINALLY got married after having to postpone multiple times because of COVID, AND we bought our first home!
In regards to books, and my blog, I had another pretty good year. With everything that I had to organise and stress over with the wedding and the house move, I was surprised that I managed to stay on top of things as much as I did.
I thought I would share a general wrap up of the year with you all, so here it is!
GoodReads Challenge:
At the beginning of the year, I set myself a target of 40 books, and I managed to absolutely smash my target. In 2022, I read 57 books (5 of them were not on GoodReads, so my completed challenge only shows 52).

Favourite and Least Favourite Books of the Year
Favourite: With Fire In Their Blood by Kat Delecorte
Least Favourite: Nothing But Blackened Teeth by Cassandra Khaw
Authors I Have Discovered This Year, and Loved.
I discovered so many new authors in 2022, mainly thanks to blog tours! You can find a list of my top 5 new to me authors in 2022 HERE!
Reading Goals/Challenges:
I set myself a few goals and challenges for 2022, you can read the original post for them all HERE.
- 2022 Reading Challenge
In 2022, I took part in the 2022 Reading Challenge, hosted by Mina @ Stacked. You can check out which books I chose for the prompts HERE. Once again, I did an absolutely awful job at this, for the third year in a row. I haven’t seen a post for a 2023 challenge, so won’t be doing this one this year.
- 12 Challenge
I saw lots of people on bookstagram and book twitter doing the 12 challenge, and decided to take part myself this year. 12 months to read 12 books recommended by 12 friends. You can find my post with my list of books that I was recommended HERE! I did an awful job at this one too. I only managed to read 4 of the 12 books that were recommended to me, but I am taking part in this challenge again in 2023 and will hopefully do better.
- #BeatTheBacklog
In 2022, I had planned #BeatTheBacklog, and to take on a lot less blog tours, review requests, and ARCs, so that I could really focus on the books I already own. Well I certainly failed at the one! My shelves have a lot more unread books on them now than they did at the beginning of the year.
BBNYA
(Book Bloggers Novel of the Year Award)
Once again, I was lucky enough to be a team leader for this year’s Book Bloggers Novel of the Year Award! This was an incredible experience, and I am extremely grateful to have had this opportunity. The competition was even closer this year than any other year, and I read some fantastic books because of this. Not only was I a team leader, but I also had the massive opportunity to provide custom made bookmarks as part of the finalist prizes, so for this, I would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to the team in charge.
My Blog:
In 2022, I had a total of 16,704 views! It’s a little less than I had in 2021, but given how much I had going on in 2022, that’s not a huge surprise to me. This is still a huge amount of views that I never expected to have, and I am extremely grateful to all of my readers.
I have made so many new friends this year, as well as grown already existing friendships, and have had so much fun! The book community is such a joy to be a part of, and has continued to be such a great experience, and I can not wait to see what 2023 has in store for me and my blog.
A huge thank you to everyone who has been a part of my blogging journey in 2022, to all of my followers and readers, and everyone who has been supportive along the way! Here’s to another year, that will hopefully be even bigger and better!

I hate when books aren’t on GR because then I feel like a phony when my claimed number of books read doesn’t match haha
