2023 Wrap Up

Hey everyone!
2023 has been one hell of a year. In regards to books, and my blog, I had an okay year, mainly because I had so many other things on which got in the way of my reading time, but I did read some fantastic books!

I thought I would share a general wrap up of the year with you all, so here it is!

GoodReads Challenge:

At the beginning of the year, I set myself a target of 50 books, which unfortunately I was a few books short of reaching. In total, I read 43 books in 2023!

Favourite Book of the Year

My favourite book of 2023 was These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong. There was so much hype around this book which made me nervous to read it because I didn’t want to be let down, but I now fully understand the hype!

23 in 2023 Challenge

In 2023, I took part in the 23 in 2023 Challenge which I saw on Twitter. You can find my TBR for the challenge HERE. I didn’t do very well with this one, and only read 6 of my 23 books.

12 Challenge

For the 2nd year in a row, I took part in the 12 Challenge. 12 months to read 12 books recommended by 12 friends. You can find my post with my list of books that I was recommended HERE! I could not have done a worse job at this challenge if I had tried. I read 0 books from my list.

#BeatTheBacklog

Once again, I tried to do #BeatTheBacklog. I did a little better in 2023 than I did in 2022, but I still definitely added more to my shelves than I read…

BBNYA (Book Bloggers Novel of the Year Award)

Once again, I was lucky enough to be a team leader for this year’s Book Bloggers Novel of the Year Award! This was an incredible experience, and I am extremely grateful to have had this opportunity. I adore being a part of this every year. The competition was extremely close again this year, and once again, I read some fantastic books. Not only was I a team leader, but for the second year in a row, I also had the massive opportunity to provide custom made bookmarks as part of the finalist prizes, so for this, I would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to the team in charge.

My Blog:

In 2023, I had a total of 14,544 views! It’s less than I had in 2022 as I took a few breaks throughout the year, and didn’t post as frequently. However, I am still very happy with my stats for the year.

I have continued to grow and create friendships within the book community, and have had so much fun along the way! The book community is such a joy to be a part of, and has continued to be such a great experience, and I can not wait to see what 2024 has in store for me and my blog.
