Hey everyone!
Today, I will be sharing my December Wrap Up! I had quite a good month of reading, with a couple of 5 star reads.
In December, I managed to read 6 books, DNF’ed 1, and started another.
Books Read:
BOOK 1: Ten Days in a Mad-House by Nellie Bly

I started reading Ten Days in a Mad-House months ago, but because of blog tours, and ARCs, it got put on the back burner for a bit. I finally finished it in December, and it was definitely a very interesting read. You can read my full review HERE!
BOOK 2: The Open House by Sam Carrington

I received an ARC of The Open House thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books. I really enjoyed this book, and it had some great unexpected twists. You can read my full review HERE!
BOOK 3: Haunted by James Herbert

After reading James Herbert’s Rats series, I was desperate to read more of his books, so I was extremely excited to read Haunted. I didn’t enjoy it as much as I did the Rats series, but it was still a fantastic read. Review to come.
BOOK 4: The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks

I had seen the movie adaptation of The Notebook a few years ago, but never read the book. It isn’t my usual style of book, but I thought I would give it a go anyway. Unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. The writing wasn’t great, and even the storyline had things that I really didn’t like about it. This is definitely one of those rare times where the movie is better than the book… Review to come.
BOOK 5: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

I must have been one of the few people who had never read The Fault in Our Stars, or even seen the movie… But OMG. I don’t have words for this book. It absolutely broke me, but in the way that you want a book like this to. I’m still not over it! I will definitely be watching the movie, and making sure that I have multiple boxes of tissues to deal with the blubbering wreck I will inevitably become. Review to come.
BOOK 6: Why Mummy Drinks by Gill Sims

I have had the Why Mummy series by Gill Sims on my TBR for so long, and I am so happy that I have finally gotten around to it. I laughed out loud the entire way through this book. As a parent, it is so relatable. I actually read so many parts out loud to Alex because he needed to hear how spot on it was. I loved this book, and I’m excited to read the rest of the series. Review to come.
Book DNF’ed:
BOOK 1: Blood, Metal, Bone by Lindsay Cummings

Blood, Metal, Bone is by no means a bad book. The writing is brilliant, and I was actually really enjoying it to begin with. But, then it took a Sci-Fi twist that I didn’t expect, and I just really didn’t enjoy that aspect of it. This book just wasn’t for me, but I’m sure so many people will love it. I may even come back to it at some point, I don’t know.
