Hey everyone!
It’s time for my monthly wrap up post for June! I picked out 6 books for June, and you can see which books I picked in my June TBR post. I managed to get through all of them, which is the most I’ve read in one month in quite a while!
In total, I read 6 books in June, and DNF’ed 2.
Books Read:
1 – Pirate Academy: Sword Echoes by Justin Somper
Sword Echoes is the 3rd instalment in the Pirate Academy series by Justin Somper. I loved the previous 2 books, and I loved this one too, a great addition to the series! Review to come.
2 – The Midnight Club by Christopher Pike
The Midnight Club by Christopher Pike was my pick for the “A book that has been adapted into a movie or TV series” prompt for my Chapter 25 Reading Challenge. This wasn’t what I had expected, but I really enjoyed it! Review to come.
3 – The Good, The Bad, and the Rugby: Unleashed by Alex Payne, James Haskell, and Mike Tindall
I had been so excited to read The Good, The Bad, and the Rugby: Unleashed by Alex Payne, James Haskell, and Mike Tindall, and it didn’t let me down. I included this book on my 25 in 2025 Reading Challenge TBR! Review to come.
4 – The First Vampire by Andrew Dennis Biersack
I read my copy of The First Vampire by Andrew Dennis Biersack as soon as my pre-order arrived, I just couldn’t wait any longer! Andy has proved that his writing abilities are not limited to songwriting, and I can’t wait for his next book. Review to come.
5 – Kill Me Quick by Josie Jaffrey
I was lucky enough to receive a PR box for the QuickSilver trilogy by Josie Jaffrey, and Kill Me Quick is the first book in the series. I’ve loved everything of Josie’s that I’ve read, and this was no exception to that. I’m looking forward to continuing with the series! Review to come.
6 – Beach Hut 512 by Dorothy Koomson
Beach Hut 512 by Dorothy Koomson was my pick from June’s Amazon First Reads choices. It’s a short story, so I squeezed it in at the end of the month. This was a faced paced mystery, and I really enjoyed it. Review to come.
Books I DNF’ed:
1 – Good & Evil by Giacometti & Ravenne
Good & Evil by Giacometti & Ravenne was on my NetGalley shelf for an extremely long time. The first book in the series was good, I didn’t love it, but I enjoyed it enough to continue the series. However, this book just wasn’t gripping enough, and I couldn’t get through it.
2 – The List of Suspicious Things by Jennie Godfrey
The List of Suspicious Things by Jennie Godfrey was my book club’s book for June, to be discussed at next week’s meet up. The story got off to a promising start, but just went downhill from there. I got to around the 30% mark and was bored, but tried to push through. I eventually DNF’ed at around 40%.

He wrote a graphic novel a few years back, and wrote a memoir, but other than that, The First Vampire is his first book (it’s a short story) and was only recently released 🙂
