Wrap Up: May 2020

Hey everyone!
It’s time for my May wrap up! Does anyone else think that this year is going super first? To me it seems to be flying by!

So this has been my best month of reading so far this year. I managed to get through the whole of my May TBR, plus one that wasn’t on my list, and started another, which I am extremely happy about. To make it even better, all but one of them were 5 star reads! What a great month of reading!

In total, I read 5 books, which are…

Books I Read:

1 – Strangers by C.L. Taylor

I read Strangers for a blog tour I was part of, however, I didn’t enjoy this as much as I had expected. I shared an extract of the book for my stop on the tour (here), and you can expect my review some time in the next few weeks.

2 – Fifty Fifty by Steve Cavanagh

Fifty Fifty was my most anticipated read of 2020, and I can honestly say that it was everything I had expected it to be! I absolutely loved this book, and every other book by Steve Cavanagh.

3 – Lost by Leona Deakin

I was offered a copy of Lost by the publishers, after reviewing Gone (REVIEW HERE) (book 1 in the Detective Bloom series) on NetGalley earlier on in the year. I was immediately excited to read this book, and I actually enjoyed it more than Gone.

4 – Domain by James Herbert

I had been intending to read Domain by James Herbert for so long, ever since I finished The Rats (REVIEW HERE) and Lair (REVIEW HERE), but ARCs and review requests took main priority. This book was worth the wait. What a great end to a fantastic series of books! I can not wait to read more of James Herbert’s books.

5 – Van Gogh by Ingo F. Walther

It was so nice to read a little non fiction along side everything else I was reading this month, and I thoroughly enjoyed Van Gogh by Indo F. Walther. As most of you know, he is my biggest inspiration. This book focuses mainly on Van Gogh’s use of colour, and composition, and how his style changed throughout his life. It also looks at how his work reflected his emotions and mental well being at the time. I won’t be reviewing this one, but I would definitely give it a 5 star rating!

Which books did you read in May?
Which was your favourite of the month?
Have you read any of the books from my May wrap up?
